Who this policy covers
This policy applies to personal information collected through sydneytreesolutions.com.au and by telephone on (02) 9000 1943, operating as Tree Loppers Sydney.
This is a referral website. Enquiries are passed to independent tree contractors working in your area, which means your details are disclosed to a third party as a normal part of getting you a quote. That disclosure is the point of making the enquiry, and this policy explains what it involves.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
Only what is needed to respond to an enquiry and arrange a quote:
- Your name.
- Your phone number and, if you provide one, your email address.
- The address or suburb of the property the work relates to.
- What you tell us about the job — species, size, access, photographs you choose to send.
- Basic technical information logged when you visit the site, such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed.
We do not collect government identifiers, payment card details or financial account numbers through this site. We do not ask for sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act, and you should not send it.
How we use it
- To contact you about your enquiry.
- To pass your enquiry to an independent tree contractor who works in your area so they can quote and, if you accept, do the work.
- To follow up on a quote that has not been answered.
- To keep a record of enquiries and work arranged.
- To maintain and improve the website.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use enquiry details for unrelated marketing without your consent, and any marketing message we do send will include an unsubscribe option.
Who it is disclosed to
Tree contractors. The independent contractor allocated to your enquiry receives your name, contact details, the property address and the job description, because they cannot quote without them.
Service providers. The form on this site is provided by LeadConnector (HighLevel), which processes and stores submissions on our behalf. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Both may store data outside Australia, including in the United States.
Where required by law. To a court, tribunal or regulator where we are legally obliged to disclose.
That is the complete list. We do not disclose your information to data brokers, advertising networks or unrelated businesses.
Overseas storage
Because the form provider and the hosting platform operate internationally, information you submit may be stored or processed outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to use providers that handle data to a comparable standard, but overseas storage means the information may be subject to foreign law.
Cookies and site analytics
The site uses cookies only where a function requires them, such as the embedded enquiry form. Your browser can be set to refuse cookies; the site will still work, though the form may not.
No advertising or cross-site tracking pixels have been carried across to this version of the site. If analytics are added in future, this policy will be updated before they go live.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any work arising, and then for a reasonable period for business records, disputes and tax purposes. When the information is no longer needed for any of those purposes we destroy or de-identify it. Server logs are retained for a short period and then overwritten.
Security
Information is held in access-controlled systems and transmitted over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Accessing and correcting your information
You may ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct anything inaccurate or out of date. Ring (02) 9000 1943 or use the contact page. We will respond within a reasonable period. If we refuse access or correction we will tell you why in writing.
You may also ask us to delete your enquiry record. Where we are not required to keep it, we will.
Complaints
If you think your privacy has been mishandled, contact us first through the contact page and set out what happened. We will investigate and respond in writing.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, which can investigate privacy complaints independently.
Changes
This policy may be updated. The current version is always the one published here.
